What’s the difference between Deferred Ad Loading, asynchronous ad loading, lazy loading, and Smart Loading?

There are a lot of terms around ad loading and we know they can get confusing! We’re here to walk you through it...

Asynchronously loaded ads wait for your content to load, then start loading ads in the background as quickly as possible.

Lazy loading means the ads wait to start loading until they are on (or about to be on) the reader’s screen. Lazy loading is a form of serving ads asynchronously.

AdThrive’s Smart Loading is a data-driven customized hybrid of asynchronous loading and lazy loading designed around the best of both worlds.

AdThrive’s Deferred Ad Loading takes things even further and waits for the entire page to finish loading or for user interaction to begin loading the ads in the background.
